HAF Project - Holiday Activities and Food
The HAF Project is a Government funded initiative which provides support to children in receipt of free school meals through the school holiday periods.
The aim of the Project is for children who attend this provision to:
eat healthily over the school holidays
be active during the school holidays
take part in engaging and enriching activities which support the development of resilience, character and wellbeing along with their wider educational attainment
be safe and not to be socially isolated
have a greater knowledge of health and nutrition
be more engaged with school and other local services
The HAF Project at Bluecoat runs alongside the Family Project Holiday Club. Eligible children are invited in to a number of funded sessions over the holiday periods and have access to a variety of activities and a hot lunch.
For Christmas 2021, we did not run a Holiday Club but instead eligible families received a Christmas Food Hamper, Christmas Crackers, a book for each child and the option of a visit to The Christmas Village Ice Skating including Santa's Grotto or a visit to the Glow Illuminations at RHS Garden Rosemoor.
If you think your child may be eligible for Free School Meals, please visit www.gov.uk/apply-free-school-meals to apply.
